Whats the Dex rating of Han Solo and Luke Skywalker?  Lana's Dex of 18
compensates for many things.  Thats +4 to everything Dex related.  Ranged
combat, Piloting, etc.

WEG Terms she has 4d6+1 in Dex. That kicks hell out of what the WEG
Characters had so of course her pilotings better.  Lana also had many more
skill points than Taurum, and Zed for that matter to place into skills.
Lana's Piloting would probably not be so high if she was a stock 1st level
Character, and not a lvl 3 Equivalent.
