I think you mean "Y" - and yes: the ability of
some genes to recognise [*] copies of themselves in
other bodies is little a bit of a spanner in the
works of any theory that works entirely on the
basis of orgainsm-level relatedness.

[*] if you feel overcome by the urge to point out the fact that I
    am anthropomorphising genes at this point, please don't bother 
    mentioning it in public ;-)
