Hello William, How very kind of you to answer me. -=> on 01-08-06 02:52, WILLIAM MCBRINE wrote to IAN HOARE <=- IH> Which according to their documentation, is superflous, as Edit is the IH> default editor. ;-) WM> It's the default in the DOS ports of MultiMail, and it _used_ to be the WM> default in the Windows port. Since version 0.38, notepad is the default WM> for Windows. Does the documentation reflect that? Doesn't matter much now anyway, though I'd quite like to be reassured I've not gone completely loopy. IH> Well, as you'll have seen Stephen Haffly pointed me in the right IH> direction. Keep the length of folder names <8 chars. WM> BTW, MultiMail (except for the XT version) has no such limitation. I'm using MM Win32 v0,46. I can only confirm that I tried every combination I could think of, but once I'd put a version of Textpad in a new directory with <8 chars, everything worked like a charm. I'm writing this in Textpad at the moment. The only minor frustration is that textpad has a utility designed to prevent multiple instances of TP being opened and I can't get that to work with MMail. Apart from that, which I can live with perfectly well, I'm delighted. Thanks again for taking the time to write. I HOPE this reply gets back to you OK. All the Best Ian ...
