SC>> Well, all I wanted is a program that I could work with by SC>> answering messages offline. After Y2K I couldn't get Blue Wave to SC>> work even trying to use the fix. MK> I looked at a few offline formats and didn't much care for any of MK> them, y2k aside. I prefer keeping things simple and all those formats MK> are vastly overbloated for my liking, looking at them from both MK> perspectives (user and sysop). I went through the answering messages online when I first got on the BBSs and everyone was angry with me because my phone was always tied up. On rare occasions a call would slip through while I was between BBSs. :-) With the offline readers and this Point I'm only on the phone long enough to dl/ul the messages. It is the same with Juno too. SC>> This Point is good and I'll use it as long as I can. MK> Looks to be working well from this angle. Jack Yates has been wonderful helping keep this working. There has been a very few problems here and there and he was right there for me. MK>>> Heh, heh. That is quite normal. Obviously you taught yourself MK>>> well. SC>> Yeah, another thing that is normal for a man!! :P~~~~~~~~~ MK> Really? That hasn't been my observation over the years. More men MK> seem to be active in this medium but I am not sure it has much to do MK> with the ability to teach oneself. Maybe but I have doubts. Remember we were talking about the guy who was teaching me but not really because he never took the time to really tell me what he was doing. That is what I was saying was normal for a man...not having patience. Plus over the years I think the gap between men and women computer has lessened a lot. SC>> I'm going to my last course on WORD tonight. When I enrolled I SC>> told the lady that I know all the basics about WORD and needed to SC>> learn more technical stuff, but she told me I had to take this SC>> class first. I've "learned" to copy/cut/paste, change font style, SC>> size and color, and how to set up a letter. Oh and how to print SC>> what I typed. DUH!!! MK> I hear you. Most of those so-called classes are a scam in my most MK> humble opinion. I never did like anything that pushes any particular MK> product, good or bad. That is bogus. It isn't so much they were pushing Word, it is what most all the businesses use on their computers. At least now I have a certificate saying I know what I've known for years. I'm going to sign up for the advanced course, then go on to learn Excel, Access and Powerpoint. I should be set then with all these certificates. :-) SC>> It has been a waste of my time and money. MK> Right. I agree 100% with that assessment. The other courses I'll be taking are at least ones I either know little about or nothing at all so that will be useful. SC>> Now I'm going to have to pay more money to take the SC>> class I SC>> should have been given the first time. :-( MK> Hopefully it'll be worth it. I'm hoping too and you will hear me screaming all the way on Vancouver Island. hehehe Sharon ---* Origin: Shar's Wildlife (1:3613/1275.7) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 3613/1275 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
