No that's not what I was getting at, honest. I quite LIKE the retro look of most BBSes and their associated websites. But if you're in the business of SELLING a WEB SERVER*, then keeping your own webserver looking at least like it was made in this century is probably an idea. Look - don't get me wrong, I have no doubt that WINSERVER is probably a good product - just that I don't understand where they are trying to sell it to. It is also, in my opinion, VASTLY overpriced at this point - if I was looking for a low/medium end groupware product right now I'd probably go for Citadel and run it along with Apache or IIS, all of it free (yes, IIS sort of costs money but if you're on a MS server platform it's included) Their product pages are woefully out of date (how many people that actually want to be online DON'T have internet access this point, for example) and de-emphasizing the BBS aspect of their product seems like a major own-goal: I should think that most of their current and potential customers are sysops. * Albeit with some probably rather good groupware parts. ...
