I skip the QWK reader in QMPRO and I use Blue Wave for everything, I
just changed the path to my Blue Wave directory.

The only thing I have been able to send is the cover sheet of a fax, the
message itself refuses to be sent, it hangs up after the cover sheet is
sent.
