From: "Mark" There will be an unbelievable amount of taxes raised in the aftermath of Katrina, not the way the Dems want them raised to hurt the economy though. Rather the revenues will rise due to: income taxes on the construction workers flocking to the 90,000 square mile area of devastation; more income taxes on the support personnel (waitresses, store clerks, charter boats for weekend entertainment, my goodness the list is unending); sales taxes on the lumber and other materials; building permits, it just never ends. By this time next year the unemployment rate may drop to unheard of lows in the 2-3% range, as if the current high 4%s wasn't already lower than the "experts" claim is possible.* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
