I don't like that part at all (but I'm not implying that you really do, = I
understand it as a figure of speech).=20

The mayor and governor (or some interactive combination of the two) sent =
some 20,000 or so residents to locations designated as "last
resort," = rather than evacuate them from the city proper altogether.
They, then, = didn't transport them there as per their own official
evacuation plan, = but told them, effectively, to walk on over any way they
could.=20

They didn't stock those last resort facilities with any water, food, or =
sanitary facilities, nor did they provide any security whatsoever for =
those that they directed to go to those last resort locations.

People in those facilities then died, by lack of food or water, rape, or =
murder, because there were no governor directed National Guardsmen there =
to maintain order as they arrived, after they arrived, nor at any time =
-- because she didn't direct the NG to go there or anywhere else, she =
apparently sat on her hands (and I saw a video clip where she was joking =
that some political opponent of hers - paraphrasing - would never get = his
retractable roof replacement stadium now, as a superdome type = facility
would always be needed for evacuees) -- she's the most guilty = of all
parties at this point, given what we know so far.

I'm still not big on this premature "blame game" thing, but it is
= obviously not going away anytime soon -- so I nominate the governor of =
LA as the most culpable party of all and hope she resigns tomorrow for =
the good of the citizens she purportedly served. She'll not win another =
election in her lifetime anyway, so it would behoove her to get out of =
Dodge right now -- it's not like her departure would have an adverse =
effect on the recovery operations, rather, her continued meddling may =
slow them down.
