In a message dated 07-01-96, Russell Brooks said to Frank Filippone:
FF>>> I've just returned from the Dynalink web page. They are
FF>>> quoting a RRP of only $239 !!
TP>> That's must be ex tax, or they expect their dealers to
TP>> survive on a bowl of rice a day. Around $265 would be closer to
TP>> real price.
RB>> Just checked again. "Australian Recommended
Retail price only
RB>> $239!"
Even a lot lower if you look around (check Randall's prices)
FF> Also, just rang their Melbourne distributor, and they quoted
FF> me $239, (They actually quoted $209, as they are having a sale
FF> until the end of today).
FF> Interestingly, Dynalink sales staff denied it was a rebadged
FF> Sportster, claiming it was their own "stand alone" product. He also
FF> said it was NOT flash upgradable, (meaning their web site is
FF> lying), and it supported Rockwell's Class 2 fax, NOT Class 2.0 !!
FF> Anyone checked this out ??
Yes I have. It supports Class 1 and 2.0
FF> And their dealer said, like every other Dynalink, it doesn't
FF> recognize Aust dial and busy tones, but it IS a rebadged Sportster.
RB>They do recognize the dial tones and busy tones on the exchanges I
RB>have tried them on. But it is a bit flakey. ( not perfect EVERY time.
They do recognize dial tones most of the time but busy tones are a real
problem. I had to disable it on mine to get Winfax Pro to work reliably.
Cheers
Mike
