Howdy! Mark,
That is what I do.
When the Light on the Power Button, the Num Lock LED on the Keyboard
and I see the Firewire 400 connected WD External HDD LED on the front
panel all are out, I turn off the UPS.
AFAIK the only lamp lit on the XP box is the LED on the back panel that
the CAT-5 LAN cable is plugged in to.
I just had another thought ... I also have a USB2 connected External
HDD connected to the XP box but it isn't turned on unless I want to use
it.
The USB cable that I use on it has a LED that shines when the computer
is turned on even if the HDD isn't turned on.
I will watch to see if that cable isn't lit up.
Also there is a SCSI SyQuest ExFlyer 230 connected to the XP system.
It is powered by a wall wart so the two LEDs on the front panel stay
on.
I press the power button on it to turn it Off After I've turned the UPS
Off.
Also after the XP Keyboard Num Lock LED and WD HDD LED goes Off I press
the Power Button on the monitor to turn it Off before turning Off the
UPS.
I will check that USB LED on that cable to the other Ext HDD now and
get back to You on what I see.
Thanks for the help.
