That day will come by 2010 (or sooner) if the price of a gallon of gas goes
to $10 tomorrow. That, of course, would be way too disruptive to the world
economy if it happened overnight, so it'll be a frog in the pot effect and
we'll get there by 2025 or so instead.

As an added bonus, the resultant reduction in emissions that we're told
(cough, cough) lead to the dreaded "human caused global warming"
will be entirely negated, and all the
"quasi-political-scientists" pushing their grant funded agendas
will turn into coal themselves; alas, only to undergo a metamorphosis to a
new cauldron of nattering nabobs warning about leaking plasma screens in
virtual offices threatening mosquitoes or gnats or some such equally
ridiculous "scare du jour." I can hear it now, "if the gnats
die, the equilibrium of the planet will suffer greatly, possibly
threatening the stability of the space elevators..."

In the meantime, pass the bacon, eggs and especially, the oxidant laden
coffee *please*...
