I just checked the current source and it is 5.4.20 as we speak.  Also
glibc-2.30 and gcc-9.2.0 while we're at it.  As for stability 5.5.4 seems to be
fine ... so far but I've only got it running on one system thus far.  I was
going to wait for 5.5.5 before upgrading the other two systems, one of which I
am typing this message on via a ssh login.  I know how to have fun.
