See my post to Mike quoting from ARCNET specs. The impedance specified
for testing is 93 ohms +/- 25 ohms, not 75 ohms.
The Datapoint cabling specification lists the RG-62 (93 ohm) as the
original standard ARCNET cable, but includes a specific Belden RG-59/U
cable (with restricted run length), particularly for use with their
video on demand system, but cautions that use of the TV version of
RG-59/U is not recommended and may not work. Checking the Belden
catalogue shows that less than half the versions RG-59/U cable listed
meet the Datapoint cabling spec whereas all versions of RG-62 do.
