And the motives of business leaders must be suspect as well, for their
objective is often that children be specially prepared for the business
world, a goal not always consistent with the broader goals of a quality
education.
On the other hand, there is some common ground on which we can work -
everyone wants good readers, quality thinkers and skilled graduates.
Certainly we should be able to work with our nation's business leaders,
as long as we aren't lead by them.
