Well not being flushed with cash then I don't know what it was like in the early
days of 14400 as i was using a 2400 :( What I do know is that my old Zoltrix
14.4/14.4 leaves the new Dynalink for dead for reliably with connects and
transfers for both modem and especially fax. I almost feel like telling
Dynalink where they can shove it.
MR> The other thing is that the Dynalink modem is inconsistent

RB>Just how far are you from your exchange, and what type of exchange are
RB>you on , for that matter.
No idea. I'm at Carindale. The phone prefix is 3395-xxxx. Apart from the hill
over the back (no phone lines going over it) its all flat around here so I doubt
that would be much of a factor.
MR> Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution. I
MR> have a pretty standard setup AT&F1&K0L1 - hardware handshaking with
MR> no compression and sound low (still at ear screeching level though
MR> :( )
BTW what setting turns the modem noise to its lowest level. I've tried L1 and
its still at ear-screechibng level. Any suggestions.
Also, are there any _special_ settings I could add to my init string to assist
the negotiation process to help me get consistent connects (even at 26400 or
28800)
Cheers
Mike
