Not true; We had openmoko and symbian/palmOS before android and those where C
based SDKs.

Android just went with java because its what thier team understood and at the
time was the most popluar language on the market. Now, if they kept to
openmoko code that inspired android then C would be dominate powering
language on android.

Of course neither of this is the case these days since most apps are just
using some wrapper around webkit and html5/javascript or unity these days.
