A dos findfirst will trigger a critical error just like any other access. I
don't know why any Pascal code should not do so, but if it isn't, then
something somewhere is installing a CE handler. Installing such a handler
is a fact of life when dealing with removable disks (which includes CDROMs
which it seems very few account for at all) under DOS.
