CZ} When I run COMMO it thinks that it is connected
  } to something.  The ON-LINE clock is counting up
  } and when some one tries to phone me it will not
  } post RING so I have to just guess when to ATA...
The elapsed timer on the Status Line is always running.  It gets
reset to 0 when you connect to a remote system (after dialing).
If your modem won't send the RING response, then it may not be set
up correctly.  Be sure it's in the V1 state.
