Is this tool plain Plaster of Paris, or is it dental plaster, dental stone
or Hydrostone? If POP, then you really need to be carefull to keep water
away from the plaster cause it will swell and crumble if it gets wet. If
Hydrostone or one of the dental products, you don't need to seal at all.
Water won't hurt it. That is one of the big advantages of the dental
plasters and Hydrostone.

Having done a couple of Dental Stone tools, I am sold on the stuff. It's
either that or Hydrostone for me from now on, unless I get to something so
big that the fast setting time, or the weight, is a problem. I think for a
12.5 inch it is still managable, but you will have to be prepared to work
fast and hard to get the stuff well mixed and molded before it starts
setting up.

I am also sold on the tile in stone method, though you are past this stage
for this project.
