| subject: | Re: FEMA director Brown relieved of hurricane responsibilities |
From: "Mark" While I'm not negating the level of damage in NO, most of which was caused by flooding via the breach of the levee, somehow I think the devastation of the entire MS coastline that spread 30 miles inland -- is completely unimaginable. Perhaps, because that scope of destruction is so huge, we've not yet wrapped our minds around it. Maybe it's just so big a thing to absorb, that the MSM can't figure out how to cover it, especially not when they have a ready-made, compact, financially manageable, area to concentrate on in NO. While I won't vouch for this guys observations, as I have no idea who he is, he does have an interesting 197 photo walk through of NO from before, during, and after. What's interesting, is his categorization of the MSNBC coverage via the following caption on one photo: "I don't know her name, but she works for MSNBC. My apologies for my wordage, but this wench didn't know what the hell was going on. She made up 75% of what she was saying and exaggerated about 95% of everything that she did know. The message: do you want to be a reporter? All you need to do is have a pretty face and buy a Thesaurus!" Here's the link to the gallery, the above caption is from a pic near the end, and there's another interesting caption regarding Brian Williams of NBC shortly thereafter (but primarily it's interesting to see NO from the inside in realtime, the shots that the MSM isn't willing to wade for): http://www.kodakgallery.com/Slideshow.jsp?mode=fromshare&conn_speed=1&Uc=11f8dl 9z.4nk5zpvf&Uy=vhxvcl&Ux=1 "Robert G Lewis" wrote in message news:4326422c$1{at}w3.nls.net... > > "Mark" wrote in message news:432634d2{at}w3.nls.net... >> >> "Robert G Lewis" wrote in message >> news:432632db$1{at}w3.nls.net... >>>I wonder it the fact that Alabama and Mississippi are in a different FEMA >>>district had anything to do with FEMA's performance. >> >> Could be. >>> Also the areas hit inAL and MS are not as populated and not as much >>> damage. >> >> Not as hard hit?
