??? You really do notice some 10s of millisconds???
My virtual server is in another country (albeight a neighbouring one) and I
have less than 30 ms roundtrip there.
For me it feels instantaneous.

It uses HTTPS to tunnel the traffic to the server, and then accesses SSH
locally. (Hence it looks like normal HTTPS communication to any proxy! ;)
