Hello there Kris ....
SM>> Hi everyone. My name is Steven Micallef. I have a
SM>> SimpleModem 28.8kVFC. My average CPS rate is 3500k. I would like
SM>> to know what your average cps rate is. If you do bother to reply,
SM>> could you tell me the brand and speed. Thank you. Steven Micallef
SM>> :-)
KR> You're getting a very good connection, you're using data
KR> compression and your target BBS is fairly local. Lucky you.
All the above is probably true but there is no way he is averaging 3500
on fully compressed files with a 28800 modem. Not possible, no way.
KR> I usually get 3300 on a good day. That's not often around
KR> here.
If you're getting 3300 then you're doing bloody well. You wont do much
better.
KR> I use a Maestro Exec 288FM (v.fc) It's pretty good for what I
KR> do with it. I'd be happier if Albany didn't have extremely crud
KR> 'phone lines.
If you can screw a 3300cps transfer across these lines then I would
hardly call them "crud".
