Click on help in Quicken, hold down the shift key while selecting "About 
Quicken."  It reports Quicken R4, but identifies the updated files as 
4.1.  This is more accurate than just looking at the release number.  
This update came via the Internet sometime in February I believe.

Do what I did: switch banks.  The bank we'd been with for about 6 years 
started offering online banking, so back in September we signed up.  We never 
did get their software, even though they told us they'd tried to ship it 
several times.  In the meantime, we'd upgraded to Quicken 6.  We finally 
switched to First Union in the middle of January, and it's been working 
flawlessly.  It took me about 15 seconds to reconcile my last statement. 
Plus, First Union lets you check your account information via a secure server 
on the web.  The data you download into Quicken from the Quicken Financial 
Network on your account is sometimes 24 hours later than that posted on the 
web (eg, we made a cash deposit today and within a matter of minutes it was 
on the First Union web site; it won't be in our downloaded transactions until 
tomorrow).
