TC> At my web site, in the 'C' area there's a link for the ANSI C++ draft
TC> standard. (http://www.frontiernet.net/~phantom7)
Am I correct in assuming that "draft" means what is suggests? That is,
that it is a propasal and possibly not what was accepted by the
standards committe. In the case of jpeg, the draft is a complete joke
in terms of actual implementation. Everyone used there own proprietary
version of the jpeg compression scheme, and today the so called standard
jpeg/jfif has been updated to use a "progressive" implementation by the
ijg (see help about in any program that uses jpeg and you'll find their
name).
Java has been added upon also and now there is the 1.0 and 1.1 language
specifications, so what about c++? Did they think they would get it
right the first time an not need revision/improvement?
I'm being drowned in lack of standards in standards!
