SC>> I think that older people have become more active in the last few SC>> decades. At one time there were self/society-made limits on what SC>> you should do as you got older. That even went for clothes you SC>> wore. I DC> Well, Mom doesn't drive anymore. She's knocked off too many DC> mirrors backing out of the driveway. I don't have a car so I don't drive as much as I used to drive, but if I need a car my daughter will allow me to use her's. Honestly though, I'm not as comfortable driving anymore. It is probably because I don't do it all of the time. I used to get in the car and just drive, destination unknown. I loved driving, even in the snow. DC> As to clothes, my daughter was there a couple of weeks back. She DC> overheard a few people talking about how well my Mom dresses! Well, older people don't have to dress *like* old people anymore. That is a good thing. :-) SC>> don't see that much anymore and it is a very good thing. Nobody SC>> would get away with telling me that I'm too old to do much of SC>> anything as long as my health allows me to do it. DC> For clothes, I think that I've never seen Mom, or even my Dad for DC> that matter, wear blue jeans. Yet, all of the kids and grandkids DC> line nearly 100% in them! I don't wear jeans much because I don't find them comfortable. I do have them for the proper times though. They are the first thing that comes off after my shoes when I get home though. With your mom and dad, you have to realize that jeans weren't worn by many people at all back then. In fact, a lot of women cleaned in "house" dresses. I have a couple here that belonged to my mom and wear them around the house in hot weather.
