Cary is about 2-2 1/2 hours or so E by NE.  If you have an NC roadmap,
follow Interstate 40 heading westward from Raleigh, stop at Greensboro
and follow your finger down HWY 220 and you'll see a teeny tiny little
dot labeled Asheboro.

I can find out about the Green card, I have a couple different people
who help the local Spanish speaking immigrants in obtaining one
(legally).  As to the setting up of an aviary, right now I don't think
there is a need to get any special permits unless maybe there is
something necessary for someone going "commercial".  Then you
supposedly need a permit after an inspection by a vet from the state
government (but I've experienced that the "inspection" they do is
somewhat less than utterly useless (re: my messages from about a month
and a half back about a breeder/dealer near where my parents live).
