AR> HS> I notice on the systems you are having problems

AR> HS> connection is when the modem returned a carrier speed that
AR> HS> the software was not configured to recognize, causing it to
AR> HS> default down to 300. You might try calling that system from

AR>I have tried calling Hayes Optima v.34 and USR v.e modems that I know for
sure.
AR>I don't know what others I have tried, but I have tried 9 different BBSes
so
AR>far, and only connect "properly" with one of them.
AR>I don't know what his modem is, but I have a message to him asking.
AR>As soon as I find out, I will let you know.
AR>In the meantime, another problem that I have found is that often when the
modem
AR>I am calling answers the phone, my modem does not respond to that modem's
AR>"mating call" and it just sits there until the connect attempt times out.
AR>I tried using the Smartcom program that comes with the modem and that
seems to
AR>work when the connecton is made.
AR>But that will also just sit there sometimes.
AR>S95=60 does nothing.
AR>I still get the same messages as above.
AR>Alan
Alan,
After issuing an ATS95=60 to the modem from terminal mode and
manually calling into one of these systems that you are having problems
with (also manually, by typing ATDTn to the modem where "n" is the number you
are calling), what does the modem report in the connect messages?
