FF>>> And their dealer said, like every other Dynalink, it

FF>>> doesn't recognize Aust dial and busy tones, but it IS a rebadged

 FF>>> Sportster.

RB>> They do recognize the dial tones and busy tones on the

RB>> exchanges I have tried them on. But it is a bit flakey. ( not

 RB>> perfect EVERY time.

FF>> Better than nothing, I suppose.

FF>> Always makes me wonder how a modem can get AUSTEL approval

FF>> and not recognize service tones.

AM> Check with Austel's approvals section to see whether the

AM> approval included service tone detection. If the approval claims

AM> service tone detection and your service tone detection doesn't

AM> work, Jim Helm at Austel may be able to have it tested for you. Of

AM> course it is important to note what lind exchange you are on, and

AM> what kind of access network you have (length and gauge of cable,

AM> any RCM or RIM devices between you and the exchange...).

My observations as an onlooker are that YOU do MORE to further the

cause, than all the those that work for Austel combined.
