I think you may be correct. Part generational carryover ,which will last
another generaltion or so , getting weaker with time and part related to
education, income or whatever they would call social economic factors
.
Amusing thing is during my years in PA I saw more Klan activity than I ever
saw in the south ( Central PA )

I would think that summer outside drinking would be more limited here (
other than at the lake or river ) Too damn hot to eat outside .
