They've sent all mail to my old address (I was sort of wondering why they didn't want any payments for the stuff they've sent me). I'd like to find out how many used car dealers went into computers? Well, I've used Dynalink 1414VQE for more than a year on two different exchanges and tone detection was perfect. The 1433 I have now has only one problem - thinks that ringing tone is busy. FF> Someone's telling fibs, me thinks. See about 4 paragraphs back. FF> Still, it's very cheap for a 33.6k modem ..... Even for v42bis-less modem it is cheap. I hope they come up with a fix soon. Cheers, Tom PS. Just called their tech support. Tech support guy wasn't there and after much waiting Greg talked to me. I just talked like ordinary user. My modem stops responding for 20-40 seconds at the time - his answer: never heard about it, you should use AT&F1&H1&R2X3 for init string and the modem will work perfect. (As it happens &H1&R2 are part of &F1 profile anyway, probably needed only for a look). Then I said that the modem confuses ring for busy tones and X3 setting isn't good - he said to use X1 (X2 would be better under the circumstances). Asked him if there are any firmware upgrades planned - no, there is no need for it! Then I've asked a question about BitCom 4 Windows and got more bullshit. BTW, anyone knows how to edit init string in BitCom? I'm only wondering who needs this sort of bullshit? Does nothing good for users and nothing good for Dynalink. --- Blue Wave/DOS v2.30 [NR]* Origin: Soft-Tech, Qld, Australia +61-7-3869-2666 (3:640/201) SEEN-BY: 50/99 620/243 623/630 624/300 625/100 640/201 206 216 217 219 222 SEEN-BY: 640/225 230 238 247 299 302 305 309 320 370 375 384 386 391 452 531 SEEN-BY: 640/702 812 820 821 822 823 829 837 838 890 895 937 690/660 711/401 SEEN-BY: 711/409 410 413 430 808 809 899 932 934 712/515 713/888 714/906 SEEN-BY: 800/1 @PATH: 640/201 820 711/409 808 934 |
