> We have one pair of Green Naped Rainbows. Very nice.
I've had Green napes, Reds, Violet necked, and Blacks along with the Blue
Streaks.. I like the temperaments of the Reds/Blue Streaks over the
Rainbows.. but maybe that's just because the Rainbow male that was hand-fed
really went out of his way to nail me..

Yes, they are neat.. but I didn't get into the nectar thing.. so we only have
the one pair of Blue Streaks now.. I sold the breeder pair.. Mine are on
Avico's dry diet and I also give them a bowl of dry stuff twice a week.. it
has cat chow, chow mein noodles, egg noodles, some type of cereal like puffed
rice or so, kibbles variety mix dog food, and a bit of reg. parrot seed.
They really enjoy eating it, more so than their powder!!

And that's the best way!! :) Wish we could do that here.. but since not, I
just spray the cage down and wash it.. and sometimes chase them out of the
cage and soak it in the tub with bleach.. we even had the breeders used to
going into a carrier when we held it to the door and told them to get in..
made cage cleaning easy and for the most part we could clip their nails when
they stuck them through the carrier holes.. grin.. less stress to them and us
that way!! Amethyst
