I don't want to get off in to any OS/2 discussions, but is there
anyone out there who uses P4W 5.0 under OS/2 Warp, 2.0?
Lately, I've been running in to problems with Paradox's speed. I run
it on a 486/66 with 12 megs of RAM. My current application prints a
report to WinFax Pro. Apparently, the generation of the report and the
conversion to the WinFax printer format is too much for the processor,
as my report ends up missing a few fields and a heading on the second
page. A Window's system utility reported that my Windows resources
dropped below 40% while the report was being printed. The report prints
perfectly and quickly to my local Panasonic, but the same three page
report takes over three minutes to print to WinFax (and I mean simply
'printing' to WinFax as a temp file, no faxing is transpiring at that
time).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, since the WinFax tech
support is taking a while to get back to me. I was seriously
considering running under OS/2, but was wondering if that would boost my
performace at all. Can anyone help me?
