RW> JE>RW>> I like the home page. Looks like a 49-50 Olds motor with a
RW> JE>RW>> hydramatic behind it.
RW> JE>> I once had a '53 Olds tudor. Sure was a good car. Bought it from an
RW> JE>> OLD lady. Took it out on the hiway and it wouldn't go faster than
RW> JE>> 45-50. Kept it floor boarded for about 10 miles and blew the carbon
RW> JE>> out. Then it was a running dude!
RW> TW> I don't put many miles on my cars anymore. But I do give then an
RW> TW> "Italian" tune up once in a while. I am near the edge of town right
RW> TW> off
RW> TW> Interstate 8 and can "Clean Out the Carbon" once in a while.
RW> TW> One time when i was really in the "outback" of East Can Diego County
RW> TW> I was driving my 1998 S-10 chev pickup and found out the 4.3 V6 was
RW> TW> Rev Limited to 95 MPH Realy scared my. Here I was out in the Middle
RW> TW> of NOWHERE and the Engine appreared to Die. Of course after teh
RW> TW> vehicle slowed down a bit it cut bac kin.
RW>You can go into the ECM and program a higher speed limit if you want. But,
RW>I think 95 is too fast for that little truck.
Roy, now days, 95 is way too fast for me in ANY vehicle. When towing my
travel trailer I NEVER went faster than 55 - I knew my stopping distance
and over 55 violated that. I start getting the "willies" at over 70 now.
I generally hold it at 60 or 65 at the most. That's what happens to
most folks when you get old. :-(
