Ummm, no, I think it's very prevalent.  Look at those "Anita Blake,
Vampire Hunter " books.

Yeah, I caught that part of it.

The worst part is what you might call the Romance Novel Codicil to this
Gothic Elitism, where Women day dream about a souless Killing machine,
tougher than any mere mortal,  who somehow falls head over heels in love
with the Heroine and subjects his Bad-assness to her well being and her
will.  Sandi admits that this is the attraction of the field to her.

I have written this story, more or less.  It's "Molly and Maria 3, the
Power Game"  The Main bad guy is based on one of April's villain
sterotypes.  Hers was Lyle Chambers, mine was Charles Spectre,  but it's
the same guy. It's been publicly available for years.

April may or may not have e-mail (I don't know)  but I'll bet you she won't
read it even if she does some day get on the net.

She had a pet Vampire.  but to tell the truth,  I don't even remember that
character's name anymore.

Oh, and Rudy Greenvele in Bendross used to be one of hers' but I felt I
could play him better.  His friend Brian Staad was April's, while Jaqueline
Post-Staad and Drake Anderson were created by April and Played by her True
Love (and a much nicer person) Leilani.

There's a whole history there, that still makes appearances in ST-OM and
other places.
