Don't forget the scene where Clint Eastwood has his gun disassembled for 
cleaning and three bad guys come up the stairs to do him in. He hears a 
tell-tale jingle and in the time it takes them to get ready and rush in, 
he reassembles the gun, loads it and blows them away.
Personally, I always keep a spare gun handy when I'm cleaning mine.
