Yes, but not in those exact words, it's the same principle.  If you put
yourself in a bad situation you can only blame yourself for being
there.  You can't blame yourself for what someone else does to you but
you can certainly take responsibility for being there.  We don't live
in a perfect world and rape victims learn that the hard way.  You
simply can't trust everyone and put yourself in harmful situations.

A person can't go around putting themselves in bad situations and not
take personal responsibility for themselves.  More often than not, if
you let someone take advantage of you they will.  As in the OP, it's
especially true for men when it comes to dating women.
