I think that the movie is self-contained enough for someone who never saw
the show to be able to follow it.  Since you've seen most of the episodes
and know the characters, you would definitely understand it.  You'd miss
the meaning of some things that come out of the last few episodes, but
you'd probably pick up on them once you've finished the series.

Of course, you could just go rent the last 2 DVDs for the episodes you
haven't seen yet (or just 1 DVD if you watch this coming Friday's episode
on Sci-Fi).
