Oh okey. That means it was not neccessarily the same W scale. That's a 
completely different thing - yes.

I personally don't remember him being refered to as a Leutainent (did I spell 
that right? :), but it's been a while since I saw season 1 of TNG.

:) I wish they'd take more care to avoid these YATIs, both regarding these 
"general" things aswell as the incocsistencies in, and "abuse" of ST 
physics/technology.
They usually have a pretty good explanation of how something works (Warp 
drives, transporters etc) but they don't take the limitations of these 
explanations in acount when shooting the episodes... I can't think of a good 
concrete example right now, but they're there all right...
