subject: kitty stuff!

JP> If any of you notice your cat visiting the litterbox
JP> frequently and just sitting there and concentrating,
JP> producing little pee or none at all, crying in the
JP> litterbox, or deviating from their training and leaving
JP> little urine spots all over the house, with or without
JP> a pink stain or blood, GET THEM TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY.
JP> Urinary tract infections are quick killers.
JK> Another symptom to add: One of my cats tried to pee in
JK> every conceivable container which had "stuff" in it to
JK> move around, including potted plants and boxes of old
 JK> clothes.
Laundry, a stack of newspapers, the bathmat, etc, etc...
And if it helps to take it any better, they do this because
(Speaking from a human perspective, but what do we know?)
after the first few tries in the litterbox, and particularly
if they are experiencing painful urination, they begin to
associate the pain and lack of success WITH the litterbox.
So they try else/everywhere. On the other hand and brighter
side, mine have always gone back to the litterbox after a
cure was affected. :)
