Yeah, I had already seen that.  There is no question she was a democrat in
all of the 70's and 80's.  Texas does have some conservative democrats
though.

I've just heard on the radio at least one report that she is an evangelical
Christian (that will make Ellen happy ) and a literalist when it
comes to the bible (that will make almost everyone but handful here happy
).  That makes me feel a little better if true, because at least
she might be a real conservative then, but I'm still highly skeptical and
pretty upset.  Rush Limbaugh is making the point that maybe Bush didn't
want to go to war in the Senate when his troops would be led by the
incompetent Frist, and has the sellouts or possible sellouts of McCain and
the gang of 7 republicans plus the always ready to disappoint Arlen
Spectre.  He might be right, but I would have rather had a known
conservative nominee, the fight, the filibuster and either a victory or
real exposure of the republican traitors in the Senate and then fall back
to a Miers after that.
