Agreed.  That doesn't stop reading about it and wallowing it from being depressing.

This defense from the same guy who insists that "In the Pale
Moonlight" ruined DS9 (minor exaggeration for effect) because Sisko
never paid for having conned the Romulans into the war on the Allied side.

So Moral Ambiguity is bad but Moral futility is fine?

:) :) :)  I am not saying you can't or shouldn't Like Moorcock or Nihilism.
I am just having my own opinion over here.

And I liked C.J Cherryh's science fiction twenty years ago when I last read any.
