Again I reference, for ~> any who might have missed the original reference, John ~> Grisham's "an innocent man" which is not a work of his ~> fiction but a true account of some events which took palce ~> in the state of Oklahoma some years ago. I haven't read the book, but I notice that on page 135 he notes that Williamson talked voluntarily, was mirandized, and said that he understood his miranda rights. The "dream" part is a bit strange, but Williamson admits that he "probably" went there with the intention of killing her. Even apart from the "dream" stuff, that admission would be pretty incriminating if combined with the right circumstantial evidence. In glancing through it looks like there was some prosecutorial misconduct in the case, but the part I glanced at about the interrogation doesn't seem to involve torture or coercion. That is, again, based on a glance rather than a full reading. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:124/311) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/331 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 226/0 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 396/45 633/260 267 285 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 SEEN-BY: 2320/105 5030/1256 @PATH: 124/311 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
