FF> Well, I'm a happy little modemmer, having just purchased a USR Courier :-) FF> FF> A question. Is there a newer, (and better!), SDL than the one in the modem FF> now?? Yup, I am running the 'Enhanced' US SDL, You should see it around, if not you can get it here on this BBS as SDL0112A.ZIP (D/L or FREQ) FF> Product type Australia External MSK FF> Options HST,V32bis,Terbo,V.FC,V34+ FF> Fax Options Class 1/Class 2.0 FF> Clock Freq 20.16Mhz FF> Eprom 256k FF> Ram 32k FF> Supervisor date 11/14/95 FF> DSP date 07/05/95 FF> Supervisor rev 061-6.2.2 FF> DSP rev 1.2.2 This is mine.... Product type Australia External MSK Options HST,V32bis,Terbo,VFC,V34+ Fax Options Class 1/Class 2.0 Clock Freq 20.16Mhz Eprom 256k Ram 32k Supervisor date 11/01/95 DSP date 10/16/95 Supervisor rev 061-6.3.1 DSP rev 1.2.6 FF> The manual is *excellent*, and makes the manual that came with my Maestro 1 FF> seem useless in comparison. Yes, I liked my older USR COURIER 14k4 Manual better though, it had a better spine. FF> Does this thing have a massive power amp in it to drive the speaker? My God FF> it's loud! I have had two Couriers now and they have both been like that, No little Squarkers in these modems! :). What I love about it is the Volume Slider, VERY HANDY!!.. (Plus all the LEDS to tell ya whats going on) FF> It was too easy to set up. The manual even suggested adding &K3 to turn off FF> MNP5, and explained why. I find an init string of AT &F1 &K3 far too boring FF> for my liking :-) Yeah, Its like that :) FF> The plug pack that supplies power to the modem emits quite a bit of electri FF> noise. I had move it so that it doesn't interfere with my monitor. Yeah?, i have a ARLEC Power Supply, same on?, This one seems fine. (Unless you SIT IT ON the monitor, then it flickers) Cya!
