       Glenn, I live in south florida and I find i kinda amusing that a New
Yorker can't find a 55 gallon
drum in Brooklyn. I know this is just a veiw from another part of the
country.. Let me say that I have used 55 gallon drums and they work O.K.
but they are heavy, they rust, and you have to fill them with either
water or sand. 55 gallon drums are INCONVIENENT. I don't think you have
room or would want one of
these in your X-tra room, whatever that may be.       I would suggest to
build a nice trypod type platform
out of scrap pallets(most are made of hard woods) At the bottom of the
trypod make a base that can hold
alot of wieght. Remember alot of screws and glue. Put some kind of non skid
boots on the legs. Make sure
the top is big enough for your glass and put wieghts on the lower triangle
that supports the legs. If you can't find wieghts, use sand bags. Well if
you can't find a 55 gallon drum in Brooklyn, it may be harder to find
sand bags.......I would suggest to make a tripod type "stool" for
grinding your glass, The masters did it
this way, (there were no 55 gallon drums available, empty that is)....
