  There is no NTVDM in 64-bit, so you can't run the legacy 16 or 32-bit
programs.

  It brings to mind when everyone rushed out to get Windows 95 as soon
as it came out. Then, they found out all the bugs they'd have to deal with.
That was how Microsoft got "guinea pigs for beta testing".

  And, I can't see discarding perfectly good working hardware and software,
just to keep up with the Jones', and increase Microsoft's bottom line.
