WJR had a follow up today. Both the sheriff and his next-in-charge were
invited to appear but they declined claiming previous appointments. A
Parish official did come on and mentioned the suspected looter arrest  but
provided no details.

They also talked to one of the arrested again and he did mention that they
were headed to Port Arthur  and were diverted to Lake Charles because a
barge hit a bridge and they had to exit into Lake Charles. He did not blame
law enforcement for the arrest saying he could understand why they would
suspect strangers who showed up in the parking lot next to the casino
during a mandatory evacuation. He does believe that given the circumstances
an arrest and questioning were warranted. It was the methods used that they
were upset with.

The three offered to take a polygraph test with any independent group that
the radio station would approve at their own expense. They will even pay
for anyone from Lake Charles to take the same test. The host Frank Beckman
took them up on the offer for the test so the story should continue.
