|Windows entirely. Maybe install KUbuntu onto their computer and tell them that

Near Christmas, I set my father up with a new PC.  He was a little
disenchanged with Windows (ME) anyway, so I put XP and Debian on the machine.
He rarely boots into Windows now.
 
If it turns out that I have to a total reinstall on the machine in
question, I am going to do the same thing, but I may use an Ubuntu flavor
this time.
