> Briefly, regarding the election reform issues you mentioned: > I think the proposed new system will make it much more likely we > will be electing a Prime Minister who is a 'Lame Duck'.. Oops.. I was talking about this as though it were a Federal change where it would only be Provincial, at least at first. The same basic problems are still there, just on a smaller scale. A closer look at it shows it's not quite the same as the US system where you can vote for the President separately. It's more like, in a close vote, it could change who is elected or change a majority gov't into a minority one where next to nothing gets accomplished. It may give a few of the little parties some seats in parliament that they normally wouldn't have gotten but that just reduces the support for the party in power which has the same effect. I think it's more important to vote for the party who's policies you most like (least hate?) rather than splitting the vote to elect a local rep you like from another party who will have virtually no power because he's not a member of the ruling party. --- * SLMR Rob * Computers are not intelligent.
