Yes, way back when I used the PPP Project, SMTP servers were mostly open or not running on the secure email port. Frank Reid wrote the program, which was just incredible for it's time. He also hosts the centralized email server for "Filenet" which was the backbone network. It just won't work these days unless it is updated for secure email servers or a centralized non-secure email server is used. I'm going to drop a note to Frank Reid on the R13 Sysops echo to have him check this echo when he has a chance. He is an excellent programmer and been one of the root WWIV people out there since I can remember. He is in Fidonet and did notice me join and sent me a note. Just very busy with day to day stuff, and I'm sure we can all relate to at one time or another... - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.40 Registered* Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 @PATH: 261/1304 266/512 140/1 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
