Having served my time in uniform from 1964-70, I thought I was defending
freedom. The more I hear the response to criticisms of Mr Bush, the more I
see the old quote about the Soviet Union ...
"We have complete freedom; We can say anything we like about the
government!
Talking of things we don't like can make us disappear in the night, but
thinks we like are OK!"

We should be leading through leadership, not arm-twisting by the
"Biggest bully on the block."

It would really be a shame if you had to remove yourself from this list.

Speaking as an officer of the United States Army with 18+ years I find it
amazing how quickly we as a country begin to fear our government
"FED". I have always thought that I was in the military to
preserve our way of life; the right to freedom of speach, fredom form being
accused without knowing who our accuser is, the right to not have our
property seized or searched with out proper due process, ect. When I here
someone obviously making statments in jest it does not offend me, nor does
it weaken the freedoms that we all enjoy. Coments in jest could be made in
poor judgment, as the writer of this has admitted, but how fragel our
freedom of speach is if one off handed remark should condem any one of us.
The purpous behind our freedom of speach is to allow us the ability to
express ourself. I feel that the writer has been ostersized quite enough
by our group. Next time it could be one of us that makes a joke that
others don't understand is a joke. If we as individuals begin to fear our
government for the people by the people then I have nothing left to defend.
  Respectfully in your service
